Day 14 - Hollywood, Bel Air, Santa Monica and Malibu (October 24th)

Today was a rest day and the acceptance that the adventure was coming to an end. Chot was flying back to Chicago at 4pm so we decided to go and check out Los Angeles.

This city has always been special to Chot and I. I remember many times when we were growing up wanting to go there and visit. It's amazing that we can now check it out together - albeit for a couple of hours.

Okay, so first mission. Starbucks stop and a stroll around West Robertson - and coming back to a parking "violation". Oops - there goes another $60!

Second mission: find the Hollywood sign and get up close and personal. We tried, went down some private roads, did some illegal maneuvers, saw some amazing houses up in Hollywood Hills and managed to get some awesome pictures. This place is just amazing!

We then headed to downtown Hollywood and checked out a couple of the Stars along the boulevard. It was interesting but we were starving so headed for lunch. We were on a tight budget so agreed that we should head to the only place that would have cheap eats - RODEO DRIVE!!

After a good Mexican and slowly accepting the fact that we were not gonna bump into any celebs, we headed towards LAX to drop Chot for his flight. On route we passed Bel Air, West Hollywood and all the other awesome addresses that we had always dreamt of visiting.

Having said bye bye to Chot I decided to head down the Pacific Coast Highway and west to Malibu. This place had always been a place of interest to me - a nice quiet place away from the bustle of LA - a place where there would be no shortage of $10m+ beach side homes - a place where I might just bump into a celeb! Alas, that did not happen but I loved walking around the beach and the local community nonetheless.

Once back at the hotel I went for an evening stroll around Santa Monica - the adventure had almost come to an end. I would be flying back home to London tomorrow with memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
